Invitations to Exhibit E-mail from Kathy Lawrence, MSN, RNC, Clinical Educator From: KatAradia@aol.com Date: Mon, 12 Aug 2002 22:46:16 EDT Subject: Texas Exhibit TO: gbphoto@gbphoto.com Dear Gordon, Please forgive my lateness in responding. Besides drowning in work and projects, I took a two week vacation with my grandbabies which was wonderful and kept me from working. :) We are very much interested in doing an exhibit here in Galveston and possibly some other surrounding areas. I will just start writing suggestions/questions: We thought the first week in October would be a good time to open your photos and story. We would like very much if you could come down and actually do a 30 minute introduction/or the story behind your photos. An opening ceremony. Would you consider this? Are you comfortable with this? is the time frame/dates okay or what dates would your prefer? We would take care of airfare/transportation and put your up in our Rosenberg House (Unless you'd rather stay somewhere else.) This is a historical old home that has been obtained and refurbished by UTMB for dignitaries. Very nice. I would need to know about honorarium for you. Maybe you could come the end of the first week in October, say the 3rd, open the exhibit on Friday and then spend the weekend here enjoying our city. We want to start with our Moody Medical Library. The opening ceremony would probably be in Levin Hall (big auditorium) and then the photos moved to the library for exhibit. Then we think we could possibly exhibit at other surrounding cities, as I mentioned above. All this, of course, in keeping with your style and integrity! This exhibit request has garnered much interest and enthusiasm, as I thought it would. :) We are looking at sponsors to cover the costs and think that we can generate from several different avenues and interest groups, i.e. Jewish community, School of Nursing, School of Medicine, exhibiting in Baylor College in Houston, Center on Aging, Institute of Medical Humanities, AARP, Senior Networking & Ostomy Association, UT Pain Committee and the list goes on...
